This campaign is a great opportunity for cities wishing to promote cleaner urban mobility, as it supports, both financially and in terms of visibility, the implementation of local projects and the set up of raising-awareness local events. Cities are encouraged to showcase their achievements to a wider European audience by publishing them online.
On 3 July the European Commission launched its new European wide mobility campaign which aims at fostering positive change in behaviours and attitudes of citizens. The three year campaign, managed by EUROCITIES, together with Mostra and Polis, will support sustainable urban mobility campaigners in promoting the combined use of different sustainable modes of transport in 31 countries.
In this framework, the European Commission has created an award fund of €500,000 that will support activities which demonstrate “significant networking and multiplication effects at the local, regional and/or national, or even EU level”.The Do The Right Mix campaign will also include an award scheme on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) to recognise towns or cities with advanced approaches to integrated transport planning.
